Wishing Everyone Good Fortune!

Happy Chinese New Year!!!

Well... a quick search for Chinese Astrology to see how my year's forecast is gonna be like led to absolutely nothing insightful. Hahaha. Seems each site has its own description of how my year will turn out to be.

So to randomly pick one.... this is from www.moonslipper.com (I feel like I should be toking up while visiting a site with a name like that.)

The Monkey

The Monkey is playful, lively, fun and a quick thinker. They get bored very easily and find it hard to settle down to doing any one thing. The Monkey can also be vain and offhand. They are ambitious and usually very good with investing money. With their quick wit and wonderful sense of humour, they are a great party guest. The Monkey’s life will never be dull and predictable!

Forecast for 2009

The Monkey’s fine creative streak can be put to excellent use in 2009 if he concentrates on one task at a time rather than attempting many projects at once. With keeping so busy, the Monkey needs to watch his own health and allow adequate time for work, rest and fun. On the home front, there may be celebrations and happy family gatherings throughout the year. The Monkey’s love life will shine also with many getting engaged or meeting someone very special. March to July will be particularly busy socially. November will be an excellent time for work-related promotions or recognition.

Interesting Monkey Facts:
Zodiac Stone: Peridot
Special Flower: Gladiola

LADY GAGA!!! THE FAME TOUR!!!

Yes yes yes!!

We got tickets! We got tickets!

We're so happy and excited!!! Yes, we have to pay $65 each (originally $41 @ Ticketbastard)... but we think it's gonna be worth it! All the videos of her performing live we've seen on youtube indicates she's one hell of a performer! We were so disappointed we missed her last time when she came to Vancouver while touring with New Kids. She was performing at Richards on Richards after the concert (What, you think I'd pay to go watch New Kids??? Not in this lifetime... ) Anyway, we're not going to miss seeing her this time around.

The Persistent Fog

Vancouver and the surround areas have been immersed in patches of thick fog for the past week. So thick sometimes I can barely see more than 3 meters ahead of me.

According to the Vancouver Weather Page, "The temperature inversion remains over the area keeping the blanket of fog in place." .... What is temperature inversion???

I hope this doesn't last too much longer... this damp, cold air... I need some sun! Although I was able so snap a couple of decent shots of the fog.

Listening to...

Taylor Swift - Love Story
I actually can't stand the lyrics of this song... but the tunes are so damn catchy! The lyrics annoys me... I guess I'm just too old to relate to the fairy tale fantasy.

I can't go....

I mean... seriously... how am I supposed to pee now with Edward staring at me???? It's creepy!

I seem to be among the VERY FEW at work that isn't obsessed with this Twilight thing... My co-workers kept egging me on to read the book. So I am. But I'm on Chapter 10 and I still don't get what's so captivating about it.

And I unable to get into the feelings Bella and Edward apparently feel for each other. Bella is boring... Edward is bipolar (I'm angry and brooding... I'm happy and nice... I'm angry and brooding... I'm happy and nice...)

Maybe I've read too much lezzie novels. I'm conditioned to expect the female lead to fall for another female. Yeah... maybe if Edward was Edwina instead... hm....

Baby has no intention on reading to the book too, despite the vampire theme (she likes vampires). Guess we'll just watch the movie.

Listen close to this song...

It pretty much sums up how I feel about a recent topic that was risen up. The lyrics are wise, revealing, and dead accurate. No one should be frightened into to living a silent legacy.

Melissa Etheridge - Silent Legacy
Why did you steal the matches
From the one room motel
Once they gave you answers
Now they give you hell
They will never understand
They wonder where did they go wrong
How could you be so selfish
Why can't you get along

And as you pray in your darkness
For wings to set you free
You are bound to your silent legacy

You've seen it in the movies
And you've heard it on the street
Craving the affection
Your blood is full of heat
They don't listen to your reasons
As original as sin
Deny all that you feel
And they will bring you home again

And as you pray in your darkness
For wings to set you free
You are bound to your silent legacy

Your body is alive
But no one told you what you'd feel
The empty aching hours
Trying to conceal
The natural progression
Is the coming of your age
But they cover it with shame
And turn it into rage

And as you pray in your darkness
For wings to set you free
You are bound to your silent legacy

You are digging for the answers
Until your fingers bleed
To satisfy the hunger
To satiate the need
They feed you on the guilt
To keep you humble keep you low
Some man and myth they made up
A thousand years ago

And as you pray in your darkness
For wings to set you free
You are bound to your silent legacy

Mothers tell your children
Be quick you must be strong
Life is full of wonder
Love is never wrong
Remember how they taught you
How much of it was fear
Refuse to hand it down
The legacy stops here

Oh my child...

It's done!

Whew! I think I'm finally done with editing the layout of this blog. The header image took the longest time. But now I'm happy with it. Carman's happy with it. And if they could talk, I'm sure Kahlua and Bu are happy with it too. Meow~

Jason Mraz - I'm Yours

New Blog

After screwing around with LiveJournal and can't manage to get the layout to work the way I wanted, I gave up on it and switch over to blogger to see if it can give me what I'm looking for. I spent almost 2 days customizing the layout, since I'm not too familiar with CSS... so I'm going about this blindly. But I have to say... I think the result I've gotten so far is very satisfactory! So for now, blogger will be the home for my blog! Whoohoo!
