Gaga, I'm your Little Monster~ FOREVER!

The mind blowing performance by Lady Gaga was on August 24, 2010~ This is the 3rd concert she's put on in Vancouver, what can I say, I'm a devoted Little Monster and I've been to all of them~ The only regret I have is back when she opened for New Kids on the Block in 2008, she put on a very small show at the then Richards on Richards bar, for only $8 and I missed it! I love watching her perform at smaller venues~ I don't think we will have more chances of that! Both nights at Rogers Arena was sold out! That would mean approx 40,000 people went to concerts! No small venue can hold Gaga anymore~

I'm so X-cited!!!!!

We're going to the X Japan concert!!!!! This is freakin' awesome!!!!

Ever since they announced their reunion world tour 2 years ago, we've already put away a large chunk of money to go see their planned concert at Madison Square Garden in NYC. But then Yoshiki injured his neck again after their stops in Asia, and the entire tour was put on hold... until NOW!!!

They just recently performed at Chicago's Lollapalooza. I hope they met up with Gaga there! And planned some kind of future collaboration. That would be eff-ing cool!

Anyway! Turns out we don't need to travel all the way to NYC to see them! They are making a stop here in Vancouver!!!! The crappy thing was I didn't know about it till today~ The tickets went on sale 4 days ago... and all the more expensive tickets are gone. We managed to only get seats in row 16. But that's okay~ to be able to be in the same room as Yoshiki is more enough!

To all other X Japan fans~ Get your tickets now at Ticketbastard!!!

If a picture is worth a thousand words....

... then a video must worth a BILLION!!!! While I edited photos, Carman took time to put together some video clips of our wedding~ It's so embarrassing to see myself on video, it's just weird!

Advice to anyone who's planning a wedding... Don't cheap out on a videographer! We thought that having a photographer is good enough. But thank goodness our friend brought along her video camera to capture the day, and by default she become our camera-woman. There are things that just cannot be conveyed with photos alone.

Now, on with the feature presentation~ CLICK HERE

☺ Married Life ☺

We've been married almost a month now (one week short)! A couple of days ago me and my wife (hehe!) took my new brother and new parents to the airport to see them off~ after a month and a half months' stay, they are heading back home to Hong Kong. Despite the 5 of us being cramped in our small one bedroom basement, it wasn't the most comfortable situation, but now that they are gone, I really miss them. Now that there are only 2 of us (at the cats) left, I finally have time now to blog about our wedding day!

How to I even start to describe such an amazing day? Geez... How about some visual aid to get me started?

↓ Here's Carman and my mom-in-law getting ready in her room~

(and have my bros suffer the evil tasks for me, haha!) Thanks guys! I owe y'all BIG!

After the hellish trials and getting my wife Chinese style~ we head off to our ceremony site at the London Heritage Farm House to seal the deal Canadian style! The weather that day was godsend. The sun was out. The sky was clear blue. A nice cool breeze coming off the waters~ It was beautiful.

↓ Papers are signed! Whoohoo! She's MINE! Whahaha! Of course, gotta hug and thank the parents. We wouldn't be here if we did not have their acceptance and blessing!

After we left the Heritage Farm, we took our photographer to Gastown to take more photos. Unfortunately, she has yet to give them to us~ I hope we get them soon!!! She probably working as fast as she could... she promised us about 500-600 photos. That's a lot of photos to post process. Anyway, I will post those as soon as I get them!

↓ When we finished our Gastown photoshoot, we headed over to our reception site at Coal Harbor Community Centre.

If you have read the blog Carman made specially for our wedding, documenting our preparation for the big day since my proposal a year ago, you would've seen all the DIY projects Carman had put her hard work into~ If you haven't read it... well, WHY HAVEN'T YOU???

↓ Anyway, here are some of the end results of those projects.

So there you go, everyone~ That's the lowdown of our wedding day! I hope the photos show exactly what an amazing and awesome day it was for us.

I wanna take a bit of time to express my feelings towards our wedding. In reviewing the photos, I came to appreciate I am truly a very lucky and fortunate person. I found the love of my life, and I was able to join with her legally through marriage. Our union have the understanding, the acceptance, and blessings from our families. I can't being to even describe how precious and important that is to us. I love the fact that her family is now my family, and my family is now hers. I still accidentally call her mom "auntie" and her dad "uncle". Need some time to get used to calling them mom and dad. Carman is having the same problem with my parents too. Haha! My sister Olive gets along great with Carman. And I LOVE hanging out with my new brother, Ted!

Another very important aspect of our wedding is not only did we made a declaration of commitment to each other, but also made a commitment to our partner's parents. We have vowed to them, with all our friends as witnesses, "You don't have to worry anymore. I will take care of your daughter now." To be able to ease our parents of worries is the foremost reason for having this wedding (and being able to have a big ass party is a great bonus!).

In addition to having the best girl and the best families, I also have the BEST crew of friends. Our wedding day would not be the incredible day we had if not for our friends. I am so thankful for their attendance and generous gifts.

And a few special thanks:
Lill - Thank you for the invitation and program fan printing. They are sooooo much nicer than if we tried to make them ourselves.
Kath - Thank you for drafting up our logo and save-the-date card. For being our driver to and from the wedding sites. And of course, for making sure everyone have more than enough to drink!
Debby & Elean - Thank you for waking up extra early to do all our hair and be the official camera-man by default!
Si & Louisa - Thank you so much for the free ice, planning all the bridal pick-up games, and being the world's best MCs~
Emily & Cynthia - Thank you so much for the rooms at Rosedale Hotel, picking up the ice for our oysters and alcohol!
Sophia - Thank you for picking up the extra food for the buffet~
Wai Lam - Thank you for picking up the sushi and delivering them fresh!
Candice, Yanny, Allen - Thank you so so much for making the long trip from Hong Kong just to attend our wedding.

My life is so enriched by the presence of Carman, our families, and our friends. July 18, 2010 will be a day in my memory not only being the one of my biggest day in life, but also a reminder I can always draw strength from if I ever feel down. I'm surrounded by people that will love me and support me. I'm so damn rich!
